My animation is inspired by the concept of dreams, fantasy, and various children's storybooks. It is about a girl who wakes up in the middle of the forest and tries to find her way out. She has no idea how she got there, or where she is, but she remembers that there is a hut beyond the forest. She meets a fox and a deer, and they help her leave the forest.

Throughout the process, I wanted to keep the story simple, playful, and slightly offputting. Therefore, I used a lot of dark color palettes in scenes where they are inside the forest and warm colors when they are out in the clearing. I kept the art style of the characters and backgrounds different to create a contrast between the environment and the figures within them (it adds to the playful and dream-like setting). I also included sounds that can be found in the forest (birds, crunching leaves, etc.), and a calm piano song to express a somber tone.

When animating the characters, I decided to turn the characters into articulated paper dolls. This way, it was easier for me to animate their limbs and movement. (I printed the characters on cardstock paper and cut them out). In the end, I was able to push my limits in animating.
